Emily has received many honors throughout her high school career. As a freshman, Emily finished first with two different pieces of art work at the Tri-County Art Fair.

As a sophomore, Emily attended the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership (HOBY) conference and was named a HOBY World Leadership Conference Finalist. As a junior, Emily won department awards in chemistry, English, and history. Earlier this year, Emily was named an Academic All-Star by News Channel 7. This year, Emily has also been named as a soccer Frontier League All-Star. Most notably, based on her PSAT results, Emily was named a National Merit Scholarship Association Commended Student. What makes Emily special is that throughout all of her accomplishments, she has not forgotten to give back and make a difference. Every year beginning as a sophomore, Emily has helped to organize and put on the Run for Hope. The proceeds from this race go to those afflicted by the genocide in the Darfur region of the Sudan. Thanks to Emily and others, this has become an annual race in the village of Sackets Harbor.

Emily will be attending Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, in the fall. She has mentioned an interest in studying international business in college.

Stacy Clark has been named the Salutatorian for the Class of 2008 with a cumulative average of a 95.92. Stacy is a member of both National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society. As a sophomore, she was presented with the President’s Award for Academic Excellence and she won department awards in math, health, science, and Spanish.

Like some other students in her class, Stacy has played an active role in the Run for Hope. She has helped to organize and coordinate the event the last two years and plans to do the same this year. Brittany’s Knee
On Saturday, March 29th, four students from
Sackets Harbor, Alexandra Maas, Brittany
Robbins, Gregory Cring, and Andrew Bombard, went to a program at Clarkson University entitled Brittany’s Knee. This program offered the students an opportunity to get an in-depth look at the physical therapy degree program at Clarkson University. Students learned how Clarkson
University utilizes problem-based learning to
prepare individuals for a career in physical
theraspy. The students got to experience classroom material in a small group format, clinical laboratory presentations, and human anatomy laboratory material. They learned a lot about what it takes to be a physical therapist!
